Public Art Projects
-
At its core, Amplify’s Public Art program is grounded in the belief that everyday encounters with creative work should be essential, not a luxury. By embedding art into public spaces and new developments, Amplify works to make creative work visible and accessible in the rhythms of daily life. Rather than treating public art as an afterthought or decorative amenity, we approach each project as a collaborative, process-oriented endeavor, bringing artists into conversation with partners, community members, and the unique characteristics of each site. This ensures that artworks are deeply connected to the places they inhabit and the people who encounter them. Ultimately, with our partners, we hope to cultivate a public realm that is both visually compelling and culturally meaningful. The result is a growing network of artworks that enrich the built environment and deepen a collective awareness of the histories, ecologies, and traditions that shape our shared sense of place.

Amplify facilitates public art partnership projects that incorporate transparent public calls for paid artist opportunities and lead to the conceptualization, fabrication, and installation of widely accessible public artwork. We favor partnership projects that directly engage site-responsive art as a powerful tool for understanding the civic histories, ecological systems, and cultural traditions that define place. When public artwork fosters curiosity, reflection, and dialogue among residents and visitors alike, it contributes to a more vibrant city where people feel inspired to live, work, and remain.

We work with our partners at each stage of our process to develop context-driven open calls for public artwork attuned to specific project needs of any size or scope. We develop equity-focused application and review processes, act as a conduit between artists and project stakeholders, oversee installation logistics and planning, and manage payment schedules, timelines, and budgets. Our transparent process for promoting and supporting public art contributes to successful community engagement and positive public relations. Our experience serving as the center pivot between artists, businesses, and organizations moves projects forward and ensures their longevity.
