W.A.G.E. stands for Working Artists in the Greater Economy and is a New York-based activist organization founded by artists in 2008. They work to build and implement more equitable labor practices for artists and contract workers in the art field. W.A.G.E. Certification is a national program initiated and operated by W.A.G.E. that publicly recognizes nonprofit arts organizations that have a demonstrated history of, and ongoing commitment to, voluntarily paying artist fees that meet set payment standards.
