EBÈNE 1804 CAPSULE COLLECTION FOR AFRICAN FASHION WEEK 2026

For African Fashion Week 2026, Brown Girl Vibes will debut a new capsule collection that highlights contemporary design infused with traditional textile artistry. To bring this vision to life, they are seeking $1,500 in production support.

The 2026 Brown Girl Vibes collection is titled Ebène 1804, a name that honors the designer’s Haitian lineage and pays homage to the historic Haitian Revolution. In 1804, Haiti became the first Black republic after successfully resisting colonial rule, a defining global symbol of Black liberation, resilience, and self.determination. This powerful legacy serves as the creative foundation for the collection.

Ebène 1804 will feature 6–8 original looks that explore liberation through the lens of identity, ancestry, and transformative resistance. While not limited to traditionally African-inspired motifs, the collection draws conceptual influence from the spirit of 1804, courage, breaking chains, and reclaiming autonomy.
