Creative People Power

2018’s Creative People Power report, produced by Springboard for the Arts in Saint Paul, MN asks big questions like: “What if we focused less on big flashy projects, and more on creating and sustaining the conditions that allow for long-term, sustainable creative leadership rooted in the culture and identities of the community at large?” That question naturally introduces a whole bunch of others we can ask about the unique cultural assets that exist in communities across the Omaha Metro.

For example, how do we identify those cultural assets and how do we assess their meaning within individual communities from an outside perspective? How can we work across sectors and disciplines to broadly and inclusively amplify the voices of artists and organizers working on smaller initiatives, rooted in ethically sensitized approaches to community development, that need support? How do those initiatives contribute to making the city a more equitable, more livable place?
