Alternate Currents cohort members co-create creative research, engage in critical discussion, and publish their work.
Cohort members work together over two years to better understand how justice in the arts is interpreted, documented, and enacted.
In their first year, cohort members:
Organize, lead, and participate in monthly site/studio visits.
Research and share articles, videos, and podcasts to contextualize group discussions during site/studio visits.
Co-create work for publication that sparks critical discussion around liberatory ideas in the arts.
Receive an honorarium to support their work.
In their second year, cohort members:
Receive critical feedback and support from cohort members and refine their work for publication.
Publish their work in a collaborative group publication.
Receive an honorarium to support their work.
Become a member of the Alternate Currents alumni, a network of Omaha-area artists and organizers.
